Firefighters were called to the “New Creations in Christ” facility in Thousand Palms just before 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. It’s a non-profit organization designed to help men change their lives through Christ. Flames completely surrounded the wood shop. It’s located on Desert Moon Drive just off of Ramon Road. Officials say the fire consumed an auto shop, a wood shop and a tool shed. All of the wood shop’s donated equipment was lost. The fire was doused in about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
