We are in for some bad times
By | November 13, 2008
I remember during the Carter years. Long lines for gasoline, 19 percent interest rates, and the economy was the worst it had been since the great depression. Skip forward to today November 13, 2008 and times are worse than they were in 1976. It is easy to blame all of this on George Bush. President Bush certainly has some responsiblity for the problems we have today but so are alot of other people too. If you want to blame there is plenty of people you can blame for our problems. President Clinton and George Bush Senior contributed to this situation. Barney Frank is another one who did not help. Our congress wanted everyone to own a home and it did not matter if they could not afford it. Now our children are up to eyes in debt. What does are brilliant congress want to do now bail out everyone. Banks, Wall Street, and now automakers. How we are going to pay for it is not important just throw money at it and it will fix itself. Now it is time for a reality check. We are looking at a depression similar to the one our parents went though. Sooner our later the debt that we owe to China and other countries will come due. President elect Obama has said he can not fix our economic problems in just one term. We all no that. There is no panacea that is going fix this mess we are in. We are going to have to go through this and hope that someone in congress or the White House will be honest with us. In the past three decades the elected officials have never had the nerve just to be straight with us and tell us the solutions. This last election was nothing more than partisan bickering and neither candidate would just tell us the truth. The republicans and the democrats have to put down their talking points and solve our problems. I am so sick of them not answering direct questions. That is what they do. They go on cable news shows and never answer any questions asked them. They just spew out their talking points and are not capable of an original thougt. I am asking in this blog for Mary Bono, Diane Feinstein, and Barbara Boxer to for some straight talk. We did not get any of that in this last election. It is time for answers. So even if you have to cross party lines do it for us you are our elected officials. It is your job to solve these problems. All of our kids and grandkids are depending on you. The ball is in your court. Do you have honesty to sit down and talk to us or are you going to hide out in Wahsington DC. Our future depends on your actions in the next year. If you dont fix this economic sunami then our repulic will cease to exsist.
